What are the policies for this course?Policies are as follows: Priorities: At Creative English Planet the following are priorities: 1. Your child’s well-being 2. Your child’s safety 3. The privacy of your personal information To achieve the above the following will NOT be permitted: 1. Any form of bullying. If a parent is concerned about bullying of their child, the child who is accused of bullying will be banned for this course and other courses. This policy will be strictly enforced. It is recommended that parents talk with their children about bullying before this course begins. 2. Lessons are designed to foster a child’s learning, self-confidence, creativity, and over-all well-being. If a child is over-stressed, very disinterested, or causing a negative impact on other students in this course, a parent will be contacted. In some cases, a child may be asked to leave depending on the circumstances. If a child is asked to leave, the parent will be reimbursed for the amount of sessions remaining in the course. 3. Your personal information is important to us. It will not be shared with any third parties. It is also recommended that you create an “extra email” account or non-important email account on gmail, that you will use for this course. This is one way to secure your privacy. Parent orientation and group meeting. Before the course begins, there will be a parent orientation meeting. This will be conducted Online, on Zoom or Google Meet. Please attend this meeting. It will be a 70 minute meeting with a 10 minute break in the middle. Google Classroom: This course will use Google Classroom to distribute information to students. Young students may need a parent to help them navigate Google Classroom. If your child needs assistance to use Google Classroom, that child will need a parent to accompany them during the class. At orientation parents will be taught how to use Google Classroom and how to join. All students who join must have a gmail account to use Google Classroom. This gmail account can be an ‘extra or non-important’ gmail account to secure your privacy.

Are there any discounts?If payment is completed 4 weeks before the start date of the course, a 5% discount is offered. This includes both regular and deluxe courses.

What are the course levels?Each level is based on learning certain phonics sounds. Previously learned sounds will be reviewed and included in subsequent levels.

If we face tech issues during the lesson, what do we do?1. There is one extra day scheduled as possible make up if the teacher must cancel due to tech issues or illness. This is scheduled at the regular class time and day after the final lesson for the course. For example if the course meets every Monday and Thursday from 4:30 – 5:00 pm and final day is a Thursday, the following Monday there will be a make up class. 2. Parents are responsible to make sure that your child has a secure and effective Internet connection. If your connection is weak and you are not able to fix this situation, please consider another learning environment. 3. Absence due to Internet connection. If a student is absent due to Internet connection issues, the following policy sill be applied: If a student must be absent once, 1500 yen will be deducted from the following payment or refunded. If a student must be absent more than once, there will be no refund.

Can 2 siblings take the course together on the same device?This is possible. It is required to consult with the teacher beforehand to discussion how they interact together.

What is the format of the course?This course is offered Online. All courses are group courses with a limit of 12 students. Students are placed into groups by age and phonics levels. The **Presently, there is one beginning phonics level, but the next level will be added when students complete the first level. Each course is approximately 7 – 8 (14 sessions) weeks and meets twice weekly, for 30 minute sessions. After each course, if possible there is a break, usually about 1 week, before the following level begins. Some breaks may be longer if the previous course finishes around the holidays.

What materials does my child need?This is the starter, but it is possible more materials will be added. **Material costs are the responsibility of the parent. Parents can reduce the cost by using low cost items or recycling. This course seeks to keep the cost low whenever possible. 1. Materials for crafts: a. Construction paper b. Pencils, pens, markers with different colors c. Scissors d. Glue e. Tape – different kinds f. Sometimes recycled materials such as milk cartons, food boxes, and so on. g. Felt board – children and parents can make it h. Velcro – to use with felt board 2. Objects to make sounds – for example, bottles, beans or beads, sticks, instruments if available, tech devices and apps that create sounds 3. Tech device with GOOD SOUND! Practice by using an Online Zoom with a friend and check the sound. You may wish to get headphones with a microphone for your child.

What if a student misses a class?If a student must be absent once, 1500 yen will be deducted from the following payment or refunded. If a student must be absent more than once, there will be no refund. Optional: If a student is absent, their parent make take their place, so they know what material was covered during their absence. Only parents who have met the instructor on line and by video will be permitted to take a child’s place. Exceptional absence: If a student will be absent for an extended period due to unforeseen circumstances, such as a long illness, natural disaster, and so forth. A student may unenroll and receive an 80% refund for the remainder of the sessions in the course. *Students must have a valid reason beyond their control to be considered an exceptional absence.

What is the deadline for the payment?12:00 PM one week before the course begins. Early registration is recommended. Each course is limited to 12 students. Once payment is received registration is completed. Students who have both registered and paid will be enrolled on a first come first serve basis. If a student has paid, but the class was already filled, your money will be refunded within 30 days.

Will there be any parent orientation meeting?Before the course begins, there will be a parent orientation meeting. This will be conducted Online, on Zoom or Google Meet. Please attend this meeting. It will be a 70-minute meeting with a 10-minute break in the middle. The meeting will be conducted on a Sunday morning from 8:30 am to 9:40 am. There will be a choice of 2 meeting dates offered, so parents will be able to attend.

How do I add a new question & answer?To add a new FAQ follow these steps: 1. Manage FAQs from your site dashboard or in the Editor 2. Add a new question & answer 3. Assign your FAQ to a category 4. Save and publish. You can always come back and edit your FAQs.

How do I edit or remove the 'Frequently Asked Questions' title?You can edit the title from the FAQ 'Settings' tab in the Editor. To remove the title from your mobile app go to the 'Site & App' tab in your Owner's app and customize.

Can I insert an image, video, or GIF in my FAQ?Yes. To add media follow these steps: 1. Manage FAQs from your site dashboard or in the Editor 2. Create a new FAQ or edit an existing one 3. From the answer text box click on the video, image or GIF icon 4. Add media from your library and save.
